Osteoarthritis of the Knee

The objectives of this study were to characterize the local extent and duration of exposure of TA from FX006 and TCA IR, characterize the systemic PK of FX006 and TCA IR, and assess the safety and general tolerability of a single 5 mL IA injection of 32 mg FX006 relative to 40 mg of TCA IR in patients with OA of the knee.

Overcoming TWEAK Signaling to Restore Muscle and Mobility After Joint Replacement

Osteoarthritis

This single-blind, randomized, controlled trial is designed to test the effect of an intensive, 16 week exercise rehabilitation program (progressive resistance training + functional mobility training) vs. usual care on restoration of muscle mass and mobility after total hip (THA) or knee (TKA) arthroplasty in men and women with end-stage osteoarthritis. The molecular basis underlying the trial is the presence of significant muscle inflammation susceptibility in many of these individuals, and the expectation that the more intensive intervention will overcome this inflammatory burden to facilitate recovery.

OsteoarthritisKnee

This is a multicentre, randomised, placebo-controlled, double-blind, three-arm parallel, Phase IIa study to evaluate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of MIV-711 in patients with knee osteoarthritis (OA).

Comparing One Intraarticular Injection of a Novel HYAJOINT Plus With Synvisc-One for the Treatment...

Knee Osteoarthritis

Viscosupplementation has been widely used for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis (OA). There is no well controlled trial comparing one injection regimen of HA for the treatment of knee OA. The purpose of this study was to compare the efficacy and safety of one intraarticular injection of a novel crosslinked HA (HYAJOINT Plus) with Synvisc-One for the treatment of knee OA.

Radiofrequency Ablation of Genicular Nerves for Advanced Osteoarthrosis of the Knee Joint 1 Year...

Painful Osteoarthritis of the Knee

Pharmacological treatment of pain due to osteoarthritis of the knee often proves to be inadequate and/or cause intolerable side effects. Arthroplasty of the knee may offer a solution, but waiting lists may be long or certain patients may not be apt for a surgical intervention. Therefore an alternative pain treatment that is effective and has little side effects allowing to offer pain relief to those difficult to manage patients would be an added value in the therapeutic options. We studies the short and long-term effects of radio frequency treatment of the genicular nerves in patients with severe pain due to osteoarthritis of the knee.

Comparing Pain Relief Between Exparel® Injection vs. On-Q Catheter as the Postsurgical Analgesia...

Osteoarthritis: Joint Replacement Surgery

The goal of this research project is to evaluate the effectiveness of a novel treatment to control pain after Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA). The proposed approach to manage pain and eliminate risks associated with catheters is the use of Exparel injection into the joint at the time of surgery.

Adductor Canal Block Versus Periarticular Bupivicaine Injection in Total Knee Arthroplasty

Osteoarthritis

The objective of the study is to compare the efficacy of adductor canal blocks versus periarticular bupivacaine injections for pain management in total knee arthroplasty. This randomized clinical trial will compare outcomes between adductor canal blocks, periarticular bupivacaine injections, and periarticular liposomal bupivacaine injections. Results from this study will help determine the most appropriate perioperative pain management strategy for patients undergoing a total knee arthroplasty.

Clinical Observation and MRI Influence of Acupuncture on Knee Osteoarthritis

Knee Arthritis Osteoarthritis

To observe the therapeutic effect of acupuncture on osteoarthritis(OA) and its efficacy on cartilage restoration, acupuncture and physiotherapy treatment were respectively given to two random groups. Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC) was used to evaluate the motor function of knee joints, followed by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanning to measure T2 values in ten cartilage sub-regions in tibiofemoral joints.

Intraarticular Injections of Platelet-rich Plasma in Pain's Treatment of the Osteoarthritic Knee...

Knee Osteoarthritis

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP), due to its high content of cytokines, bioactive proteins and platelet growth factors, may contribute to diminish the pain of arthritic knee. It was also recently recognized a regenerative cell potential improving the concentration of hyaluronic acid and stabilizing angiogenesis in arthritic knees This study therefore seeks to assess the analgesic power of PRP in osteoarthritic knees intraarticularly infiltrated, and which patients would benefit most from treatment, eliminating false expectations in the rest.
